COSTA RICA - A MOONLIT MOMENT

The colors were otherworldly, the texture was like glass. Care to take a guess?

  1. It looks to me like a butterfly or moth is imminent (if I understand the question properly).

  5. Clever bunch. Actual size, 1 to 1.5". I'd never seen or touched anything like this before, nor did I know that the word chrysalis comes from the Greek chrysós for gold, because of the metallic gold color of many butterfly pupae.

I doubt I would have even seen it if we hadn't been on a night tour with headlamps. Still and all, my absolutely favorite discovery on that tour was the trap door spider. Ever open one's door?
