Then we click our ruby slipper heels together three times and a formerly invisible puppy who was hit by a car and spent his first year in a safe but crowded shelter will be discovered by the Heart of Barkness, tutored in the ways of humans, and in no time transformed into a blindingly visible and completely irresistible family dog.
It's true. Exactly Filipo's story. Finding him, or any of Cuenca's invisible dogs, is easy; both Ecuadoreans and expats look right through them all the time. Our work at the Heart of Barkness is to stack the odds in favor of these animals by giving them one-to-one attention, building their confidence, cultivating their inherent strengths and preparing them for family life in loving expat homes.
Now where the hell's that back-up pair of slippers...
